Singapore's Quintessential Local Bar
Loof (2005) is Singapore's first standalone rooftop bar, established at a time when foreign players dominated the scene. A toast to local culture, the bar celebrates colloquial conversations through its name - 'loof' is Singlish for 'roof'. Serving Southeast Asian-inspired food and drinks alongside Asian beers and whiskies, Loof is a watering hole for the creative community. Within its offbeat art and design locale Bras Basah, Loof has hosted the works of emerging and established local artists, designers and musicians alike. Completing the local experience is a standalone retail island, The Mama Shop – a postmodern take on classic mom-and-pop shops featuring a selection of new age souvenirs and nostalgic gems.
